Redlining with Maureen McCormick and Brett Burkey
Description: Redlining occurs when people are unable to obtain a loan for a property because of its location. It was used throughout the United States during much of the 20th century. Often, the parts of town that were redlined were Black communities. How did this policy come to be? What were its effects? What was it like here in NE Florida? Learn about these questions and more at this workshop. The standards-based primary and secondary resources presented in this workshop will be available to all teachers.
